After we had gone into pretty much every shop possible we ventured out onto the beach. The sand was so different from any sand I've ever seen in the states. It's not very fine sand...but more thick and grainy. After only a few minutes on the beach we ventured across the street to a restaurant where Sarah's friend from class, Melody, works. It's a restaurant on the beach that Melody's family owns. All of us ordered steaks, and they were seriously the best thing I've eaten in England. A family ordered oysters the week before we came, and they found a pearl in one...how cool!
Next we ventured to Margate. If I had to say what margate is like I would say it is like the coney island of England. There were several vintage shops, and bookstores. We ate at a cupcake place in Margate that the queen fancies when she visits. It was so delicious! We also may have hit up the Primark before we left...we couldn't help ourselves. All in all it was a lovely Saturday on the not-sunny coast of England.
