Holy Sips, Last-Minute Trips, and Chicken Strips.

This morning I went to church with my friend Chelsea. We met at the bust stop at 10am and went by double decker to Canterbury High School. At the high school they hold a service there on Sundays. It was a modern methodist type of service. I really enjoyed myself. Everyone at the church seemed extremely happy to have us there and they were incredibly friendly. They served communion there--and everyone drank wine out of the same cup! I had never done this before so I found it quite odd.

The sermon was over the first chapter of the book of James. It was about being joyful in times of trial--or steadfastness  I felt this really applies to my time here in England. I need to be joyful even when it gets difficult here. I also need to always rely on God and remain loyal and dutiful to him. I thought that it was funny that out of all the books of the bible the pastor chose James for his sermon. This is because Adam and myself have been doing a Skype-Bible study on James within the last week so I had already read the chapter! It's funny how God works sometimes. :)

After church, I got together with a few friends for some pancakes! I ended up booking a trip to Scotland with Lauren, Emily, Lindsey and Amanda. We spent forever trying to figure out the cheapest route. Next weekend, we will be taking a bus to London and then getting on another bus to take us to Edinburgh. So...keep an eye out for a blog on my whirlwind trip to Scotland next week! I am super excited to be going, and I will hopefully not spend over 150 pounds for the whole trip...hopefully. Haha.

Lastly...Lauren and Sarah and I did our laundry. While we were waiting for it, I made chicken and cheese quesadillas. I had to bake the chicken and then cut it into strips...then add the cheese in the tortilla and melt it on the stove! I used pans, the oven, the stove, and a knife...I consider that cooking! I was pretty impressed with myself...but my roommates thought otherwise. They still didn't think that my quesadillas could be considered "real" cooking. Lauren, Sarah, and I had a good laugh about the way they say Adidas. They say AHH-de-DAS. BAHAHA.

And my roomies have never had smores. I know...I  feel sorry for them. So in the next few weeks, I am going to make them smores... biscuits and gravy...and fried chicken. By the time I leave, at least they'll get a little taste of Tennessee.

Well let's be honest...providing any taste at all is better than what they normally eat! Haha
